The words "eat" and "food"
The words "eat" and "food" are not always used correctly. We've listed some phrases which are wrong and some which are correct.

داستان كوتاه مرد و پيله كرم ابريشم
small crack appeared on a cocoon. A man sat for hours and watched carefully the struggle of the butterfly to get out of that small crack of cocoon.
Then the butterfly stopped striving. It seemed that she was exhausted and couldn’t go on trying. The man decided to help the poor creature. He widened the crack by scissors. The butterfly came out of cocoon easily, but her body was tiny and her wings were wrinkled.
The ma continued watching the butterfly. He expected to see her wings become expanded to protect her body. But it didn’t happen! As a matter of fact, the butterfly had to crawl on the ground for the rest of her life, for she could never fly.
The kind man didn’t realize that God had arranged the limitation of cocoon and also the struggle for butterfly to get out of it, so that a certain fluid could be discharged from her body to enable her to fly afterward.
Sometimes struggling is the only thing we need to do. If God had provided us with an easy to live without any difficulties then we become paralyzed, couldn’t become strong and could not fly.

Beijing hit by record snowfall

در اثر بارش یک برف سنگین بی سابقه در پکن پایتخت چین، مدارس این شهر تعطیل شده است. بارش برف همچنین موجب لغو بسیاری از پروازهای بین المللی در این کشور شده است. از سال 1951 تا کنون، این سنگین ترین برفی است که در پکن آمده است.
Thousands were left stranded for a second day after the cold weather brought severe disruption to transport across the country.
Some 30 highways have closed in the north of China and in Beijing the city's Capital airport saw 90% of flights cancelled or delayed on Sunday. By early Monday, around 40% of flights had been disrupted.
In some parts of Beijing, 33cm of snow fell, the heaviest in more than half a century. Volunteers have taken to the streets with snow-shovels to clearthe drifts. School children saw their new year holiday extended by the severe weather. Here and in neighbouring Tianjin they were given the day off.
More snow is expected across the north of China, although Beijing is expected to remain clear, but temperatures in the capital, already at minus 14, could drop even further.

Isaac Newton
Today is birthday of Sir Isaac Newton
Newton, Sir Isaac (1642-1727), mathematician and physicist, one of the foremost scientific intellects of all time. Born at Woolsthorpe, near Grantham in Lincolnshire, where he attended school, he entered Cambridge University in 1661; he was elected a Fellow of Trinity College in 1667, and Lucasian Professor of Mathematics in 1669. He remained at the university, lecturing in most years, until 1696. Of these Cambridge years, in which Newton was at the height of his creative power, he singled out 1665-1666 (spent largely in Lincolnshire because of plague in Cambridge) as "the prime of my age for invention". During two to three years of intense mental effort he prepared Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy) commonly known as the Principia, although this was not published until 1687.

Which is correct:
'my friend and me' or 'my friend and I'?
شاید این سوال برای بسیاری از زبان آموزان پیش بیاید که کدام صورت درست است, گفتن 'my friend and me' یا 'my friend and I' ؟
بستگی به این دارد که شما و دوستتان در کجای جمله قرار دارید. در گفتار محاوره معمولا از 'me' درجایی استفاده شده که شکل استاندارد گرامر به 'I' نیاز دارد, مخصوصا هنگامی که شخص دیگری نیز ذکر شده است. بعضی اوقات افراد از 'I' بجای 'me' استفاده می کنند, چون می دانند گاهی اوقات 'me' اشتباه است, اما اصل و قاعده را درک نمی کنند. خوب است بدانیم 'I' فاعل جمله می باشد درصورتی که 'me' مفعول جمله است.
اگر در درستی جمله شک دارید my friend را از جمه حذف کنید.
Me and my friend went to a party last night. اشتباه
I and my friend went to a party last night. درست
به دیگر نمونه های مشابه زیر نیز دقت کنید:

از نظر گرامری نشانه بهتر بودن نیست تنها صورت I and my friend بجای my friend and I درضمن گفتن
مودبانه تری دارد.
The difference between phrases and clauses:
A phrase is a collection of words that may have nouns or verbal, but it does not have a subject doing a verb. The following are examples of phrases:

leaving behind the dog

smashing into a fence
-
before the first test
-
after the devastation
-
between ignorance and intelligence
-
broken into thousands of pieces
-
because of her glittering smile
In these examples above, you will find nouns (dog, fence, test, devastation, ignorance, intelligence, thousands, and pieces). You also have some verbals (leaving, smashing), but in no case is the noun functioning as a subject doing a predicate verb. They are all phrases.
. A clause is a collection of words that has a subject that is actively doing a verb. The following are examples of clauses:

since she laughs at diffident men

I despise individuals of low character
-
when the saints go marching in
-
Obadiah Simpson is uglier than a rabid raccoon

because she smiled at him.
In the examples above, we find either a noun or a pronoun that is a subject (bold-print) attached to a predicate verb (underlined) in each case.
